JOB TITLE:             Procurement & Inventory Manager   


REPORTING TO:     Supply Chain Director


LOCATION:             Onshore




The Procurement & Inventory Manager directs the process which includes the planning of procurement and inventory control. P&I Manager is responsible for managing and developing a diverse group of procurement professionals, in addition to being responsible for warehouse management on the rigs. This role is the process owner for WH procurement & inventory and will interface between the Corporate and Region.

The P&I Manager is paramount in implementing effective supply chain strategies, tactics in line with budget guidelines to support WH procurement activities. He/she is expected to adhere to the Business Principles & Ethics and Code of Business Conduct of being reliable, trustworthy and fair, avoiding conflicts of commercial interest, ensuring accuracy of information, maintaining confidentiality and by abstaining from all forms of corruption


Responsible for/ensure:


  • Ensure an efficient procurement service to the Rig operations that will ensure that all materials and services are planned and provided in a timely manner in order to prevent any financial penalty to the rig operation

  • Leverage Group or regional relationships when expenditure with subcontractors and suppliers and initiate, manage new and existing frame/master service agreements for the region

  • To regularly analyze key data on suppliers to aid effectiveness of supply of goods and services.

  • Work closely within the business division in order to ensure the most cost effective and technically correct solution is chosen in order to maintain quality of parts, equipment or services and to improve delivery where-ever possible

  • Provide technical knowledge to the development of commercial strategies and business opportunities

  • Provide ongoing cost reduction and process improvement to the business without jeopardizing quality

  • Implement effective supply chain strategies, tactics in line with budget guidelines to support the WH procurement activities.

  • Development and generation of defined Supply Chain KPI’s in Line with Corporate guidelines.

  • Liaise with A/P to ensure timely invoice payments.

  • The position represents a key role to develop an Inventory Optimization plan to better streamline warehouse guidelines enabling Maintenance and Drilling departments to better organize and identify critical inventory that is currently held within our Offshore Installations

  • Coordinate and manage the following inventory projects with Rig Management and offshore teams

    • Min/Max Reviews

    • Criticality assignments

    • Order consolidations for frequently ordered materials

    • Proposed inventory reduction initiatives

    • Review of Obsolete / Overstock

    • Inventory Optimization

    • Cycle Count review

  • Other tasks as delegated by Western Hemisphere Supply Chain Director.




  • Managerial experience essential

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Advanced understanding of supply chain principles, practices and procedures




  • As per Corporate and Regional specific Delegation of Authority matrices.




  • Minimum 4 year college degree (Supply Chain preferred) or equivalent managerial experience

  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain at managerial level within the Oil & Gas industry

  • He/she must have demonstrated experience in establishing and building successful supplier relationships

  • Must possess highly developed negotiation skills and must be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders, managers, peers, and suppliers
