JOB TITLE:   Riser Analysis Engineer

 

LOCATION:   Onshore       

 

1.1 ROLE SUMMARY

 

Overall responsibility is to perform riser analysis based on fleet requests

 

1.2 JOB SPECIFIC

 

Specific tasks in connection with the role:

·        Ensure each floater has a riser analysis per well as per company directive requirements

 

·        Perform marine drilling riser related engineering analyses

 

·        Create & analyse FEA models for Top Tension Risers in accordance with API16Q

 

·        Run Drift-off Analysis for semi-submersibles and drillships

 

·        Perform Transit Analysis with suspended BOP

 

·        Perform Hang-off Analysis

 

·        Advise and assist with the creation of Well Specific Operating Guidelines for rigs

 

·        Liaise with third party riser/stress analysis provider and be the focal point for the company

 

·        Handle rig/customer technical queries regarding riser management

1.3 AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

Responsible for/ensure:

·        Producing riser analysis per well and transit analysis for move with BOP suspended

 

1.4 DELIVERABLES

 

·        Issuing riser and transit analysis reports

·        Maintaining tracking sheet of all riser analysis requests

 

1.5 EXPERIENCE

 

·        Candidate should have a min of 2 years performing such analyses and writing reports

 

1.6 COMPETENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

·        Bachelor Degree within an appropriate technical engineering discipline (Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding/Structural Civil Engineering)

·        Understand complex business problems, identify business/functional user requirements, and recommend how best to support them through processes and applications.

·        Well-developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills, comfortable to work in an environment of change, results oriented and resilient, effective at building and maintaining relationships.

·        Creates innovative, focused and practical long-term plans

·        Ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently

·        Computer literate and adaptable to the introduction of new software as appropriate

·        Knowledge of the following:

·        MathCAD

·        AutoCAD

·        Marine Vessel Hydrodynamics

·        Stability Analysis

·        Mooring Analysis

·        Riser Analysis

·        Strength Assessment

 

·        Adaptable and able to work with a wide variety of ship systems and equipment

 

1.7 REPORTING LINES

 

·        Reports to Technical Manager
