1.0 CORPORATE REQUIREMENTS

 

JOB TITLE:                Roughneck

 

REPORTING TO:     Driller

 

LOCATION:           Offshore

 

1.1 ROLE SUMMARY

 

Assist with preparing downhole and drilling equipment for upcoming operations.

 

1.2 QHSE

 

Responsible for/ensure:

  • Compliance with the Seadrill Code of Conduct.

  • Compliance with applicable internal and external governing requirements.

  • Compliance with applicable laws.

  • That all emergency equipment is in good condition and configured as required.

  • Non-compliances are promptly acted on and reported to the direct supervisor.

  • All relevant governing documents are revised as and when required.

  • Compliance with the standard for tidiness and cleanness.

  • Assume the safety role as per station bill and emergency preparedness plan.

  • Contribute with OBS card reporting.

     

    Assist with:

  • verifying client drilling program vs. Seadrill requirements

  • Seadrill training, certification and competence compliance management

     

    Participate in:

  • Meeting activities in a proactive and constructive manner.

  • Training and competence assessments as assigned and/or required.

 

1.3 JOB SPECIFIC

 

Assist with:

  • Conducting all drills and checks as required.

  • Preparation for upcoming drilling operations.

  • Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of shift.

  • Training subordinates in order to make them suitable for a higher position.

  • Other duties are performed as and when required and/or directed by his/her direct supervisor.

     

1.4 EQUIPMENT & SYSTEMS

 

Assist with:

  • Ensuring operational preparedness of all safety and emergency equipment.

  • Preparation of drilling equipment.

  • Operation of drilling equipment and systems as instructed by supervisor.

  • Maintaining all drilling related equipment as per instructions and procedures including first line maintenance.

  • Handling of tubulars and associated handling equipment as instructed by supervisor.

  • Preparing all tubulars, handling gear and other equipment required for the well operations.

     

1.5 AUTHORITY

 

  • As per Corporate and Regional specific Delegation of Authority matrices.

     

1.6 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Craft certificate in drilling and well service or

  • 5 years’ experience in relevant skills areas and completed exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) Well engineering or

  • Construction machine driver’s craft certificate and completed exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) Well engineering or

  • Quarry worker’s craft certificate and completed exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) Well engineering or

  • Relevant craft certificate in technical and industrial production or electrical qualification, and completed exam for private candidates in Advanced Course 2 (VG2) Well engineering

  • Lifting appliance operator – NORSOK R003 Safe use lifting equipment

  • Valid offshore medical certificate approved by Norwegian authorities

  • Valid offshore safety training certificate approved by Norwegian authorities

     

2.0 REGIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This section describes requirements deemed necessary for this position in the respective region and are considered as additions to the requirements outlined in Section 1.

 

The requirements in Section 1 are to be considered minimum corporate requirements and deviations from same are to be handled in accordance to the Directive for Handling of non-conformities.
