CORPORATE REQUIREMENTS

 

 JOB TITLE:              Tax Accountant

 REPORTING TO:     Regional Tax Manager

 

 LOCATION:              Singapore

 

1.1

ROLE SUMMARY

 

Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Manager Asia. The role focuses on company taxes and other associated taxes associated with Seadrill operation in the Asia region. 

 

1.2

QHSE

 

       Compliance with the Seadrill Code of Conduct.

       Compliance with applicable internal and external governing requirements.

       Good and clear communications with all involved parties.

       Compliance with Seadrill training, certification and competence requirements.

       Non-compliances are promptly acted on and reported to the direct supervisor.

 

1.3

JOB SPECIFIC

 

       Ensure regional tax compliance requirements for companies are met

       Review of monthly/quarterly returns

       Assist with annual tax return - computation and submission

       Monitor and follow up on tax provision and payment positions of companies in the group

       Assist with the handling of tax audits, tax investigations from tax authorities throughout the region 

       Prepare and review monthly taxation reporting for operations in Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Singapore & Australia

       Manage GST/ WHT/ VAT reporting in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia

       Assisting in preparation of corporate tax computation for Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia.

       Liaise closely with cost controllers, internal and external tax advisors, auditors and other external parties.

       Involved in the One-source / KPMG Link 360 corporate reporting process

       Provide input on transfer pricing matters in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia.

       Ad hoc and special projects as required by management.

       Operate within Seadrill´s Key principles for business conduct

QUALIFICATIONS

       Degree in Accounting or equivalent

       Preferably experienced in handling oil rig operations taxation and GST related matters although experience in rig operations taxation is not a must.

       Basic accounting knowledge

       Well organized, meticulous and proficient in process review and improvement 

       Proactive, with excellent follow through to achieve results                       

       Strong communication skills with positive attitude

 

1.6

REQUIREMENTS

 

       Be able to effectively communicate with large, international Finance team

       Strong written communication essential, must be able to deliver high quality written reports

       Must be prepared to meet challenging deadlines on a monthly/quarterly basis

       Proficient with full range of Microsoft Office software 

       Knowledge of transfer pricing would be an advantage

       Experience with Oracle or similar accounting software would be an advantage • Ability to work independently to agreed targets

       Well organized, meticulous and proficient in process review and improvement

       Regional travelling may be required for tax audits/matters
