JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Supply Chain, Capital Projects, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our capital projects through effective supply chain management and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in optimizing supply chain processes, negotiating contracts, and fostering strong supplier relationships. This position requires a hands-on leader who can navigate complex projects, manage stakeholders, and drive efficiencies within the supply chain function.


JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure efficient and effective supply chain services for projects and ensure all identified materials and services are planned and provided in a timely manner to mitigate project risks and delays.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions while maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, including monitoring geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, finance, and operations, to align supply chain activities with overall project goals.
  • Implement cost-effective measures and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce overall project costs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and ethical practices in all supply chain activities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the effectiveness of the supply chain function.
  • Lead common management and coordination of Procurement processes for the different projects. Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to by personnel involved with the Supply Chain and Procurement functions and utilizing Global, Regional and Remote location Pricing agreements.
  • Escalation contact/key business partner for Supply Chain issues across the different projects.
  • Conduct duties per the Company Policies & Procedures included in the Company Supply Chain Manual and relevant Corporate or Operational Division Manuals.
  • Develop location-specific Policies and Procedures in line with Corporate Supply Chain Directives and Procedures, and ensure common understanding, implementation, and compliance with same.
  • Ensure the ‘Company’s Code of Ethical Business Conduct’ and the ‘Company’s Insider Trading and Confidential Information Policy’ are being respected and followed accordingly, Including Sarbanes Oxley Compliance & FCPA.
  • Manage assigned Supply Chain Projects budget. Oversee the supplier spend for assigned areas and continuously monitor for savings opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Liaise with A/P to ensure timely invoice payments.
  • Developing and generating defined Supply Chain Project KPIs aligned with corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct internal and external audit compliance in assigned areas.
  • Comply with all requirements of the Total Management System, Operating and Technical procedures, and workplace instructions.
  • Where appropriate and aligned with the corporate Supply Chain function, run regional/local sourcing projects, develop capable new suppliers, and negotiate cost-effective contracts for the client group.
  • Oversee the Logistics Process for the Region. Ensure that the logistics contract and service level of the 3PL provider are as per company expectations and standards.
  • Ensure that Freight costs and logistics processes are reviewed, and necessary changes done to improve the process and reduce freight costs in the Region.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company's capital projects objectives.

Leadership

  • Manage and develop assigned Supply Chain team project members.
  • Ensure that supply chain project resources are appropriately assessed, screened, selected, and hired as per organization and job requirements and that they are trained, mentored, and coached accordingly.
  • Ensure objectives are set for assigned supply chain project team members and that formal appraisals are completed as per company guidance. Ensure timely completion of the performance ratings, mid-year checkpoints, and development planning.
  • Actively monitor the completion of training requirements for the Supply Chain, Projects team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. Implement process improvements, technology solutions, and performance metrics to measure and track progress.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Develop talent, provide coaching and mentorship, and empower team members to achieve their full potential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Advanced understanding of Supply Chain projects processes and supporting tools including, but not limited to, logistics and shipping management, commercial concerns, operational imperatives, and decision-making on global materials sourcing decisions.
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships of trust and influence with stakeholders and vendors; able and willing to engage frequently and effectively to optimize communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work with various locations and functions and establish networks to enable ongoing training and effectiveness of key users.
  • Experience assessing KPI data, business outcome monitoring, seeking feedback, and driving continuous process improvement motions.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field required
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in Supply Chain, preferably in Procurement, Projects, and/or Procure-to-Pay (P2P); 7 years of experience managing Supply Chain professionals and team leaders
  • Industry: 10+ years’ experience in oilfield services, drilling, and/or related manufacturing and construction industries preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully managing complex supplier relationships.
  • Global Mindset: experience operating locally and independently while managing and reporting into a globally matrixed function preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices, regulations, and emerging trends.
  • Project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred

  • Continuous Improvement Engine: capabilities and experience managing within a multi-year Supply Chain optimization project and/or global transformation preferred.
  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
