JOB SUMMARY
The Contracts Lead will be responsible for facilitating activities
concerned with contracts for services on a global scale. This role will
report directly to the Global Contracts Manager in Houston, Texas and work
within the Business Development organization.
JOB SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate and lead negotiations with clients to uphold Seadrill’s Contracting Standards and secure the optimal terms for the company
- Reviewing complex contract documents and markup in accordance with established protocol and timing requirements to complete contract redlines for tender submissions
- Mitigating contractual risk by negotiating terms and conditions while supporting commercial and organizational objectives
- Collaborate with and advise multidisciplinary management teams, including Business Development, Legal, Operations to adequately assess associated risks
- Balancing commercial, operational and legal risks protect the company and maximize financial returns
- Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
- Oversee the endorsement and approval process for execution of any contract related documents
- Monitor and enforce compliance with contractual obligations
- Support operations in contractual dispute resolution
- Facilitate contract amendments or variations
- Maintain contractual records and documentations and ensuring procedures are in place for control of all contract correspondence, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all assigned projects.
- Work with customers and internal stakeholders to perform the closure tasks required as part of contract completion. Arrange returns of Performance Bonds, PCGs, Closure letters.
- Occasional travel could be required.

Essential
- Preferably prior experience of dealing
with offshore drilling or energy businesses
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
and Salesforce

EDUCATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
- Extensive experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of related prior experience with Contracts, Business Development, or Drilling Operations
